Privacy Policy

BamBoast ("we," "our," or "the app") is a companion app for physical American Mah Jongg play. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it's used.

What BamBoast tracks

BamBoast does not require an account or any personal information to use. To track a physical Mah Jongg game in progress, it stores the following on your device only:

• Your display name, if you set one (defaults to "Me")
• Game session details you enter (player count, optional player names, Charleston usage, East designation)
• Your personal Mahjong win history (date, time, card year, and optional card section/line)
• Your card-cycle reset date preference

BamBoast does not use a camera, does not scan or recognize physical tiles, and does not track opponents' statistics beyond what you optionally name them for display during a session.

What BamBoast does not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not show ads or use your data for ad targeting.
• We do not share your Mahjong history with other users or third parties.

How your data is stored

BamBoast is offline-first: your game history and card progress are stored exclusively in local storage on your device. We do not operate a server or database that holds your game history, and it is not automatically synced across devices. Data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you'd like a copy for safekeeping or to move to a new device, use "Export Backup (JSON)" in Settings, then "Import Backup (JSON)" on the other device.

Your choices

You can edit or remove player names, reset your active game, or clear your recorded history at any time from within the app's Settings. "Clear All History" in Settings permanently deletes all locally stored game and win data from your device immediately — there is no separate account to delete, since none is created. Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.

Children's privacy

BamBoast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, note it within the app.
